Read This BEFORE You Remodel Your Home
Sorry I've not posted in some time.
As I sit here watching "home" shows on TV, I was inspired.
This young couple were looking at homes. The first thing that got me was that they had to ask what the finishes were.... Countertops, flooring, etc.
If you don't know, does it matter? Better yet; have you done enough research to actactually be buying a home? At least in the price range they are looking .
May I digress?
I was in a big box home store one day, and remember an employee making a statement about how the DIY shows have influenced people. This is a prime example!
Just because the television says "this is what is "in", or "good", does not mean it's for YOU!
There are so many things that need to be taken into consideration.
How long do you plan to keep the home?
How much renovation can You do to meet your wants and needs before topping out your neighborhood?
From here we can elaborate to...
You want to rip out and change flooring, tear out this wall, paint that room, etc....
Have you ever done these things before?
People tend to see it done on 30 -60 minutes on TV and think..."I've got this".... REALITY CHECK!!! Good luck!!
Of the aforementioned, painting probably seems the easiest and cheapest. If you have not done it, SUCCESSFULLY, with professional results; think again.
I am not trying to scare you away from delving into such a challenge. I am, however, cautioning you to SERIOUSLY consider your KNOWLEDGE & SKILL LEVEL! Furthermore, educate yourself enough to do YOUR due diligence and also ask the right questions to be sure you are not diving into an eternal abyss that will drain your bank account.
There are way more factors to consider than you can imagine; each in accordance with your time and situation.
But, do not let me scare you away from trying....
Not 1 successful person has succeeded without first "failing".
What is "FAILING"... Really?
Those who SUCCEED see "failure" as LEARNING EXPERIENCES!
Do your resrarch.
Ask the questions.
Do your research.
Forge forward.
Demand success!
Good luck!
Godspeed!
