Leaves, Leaves & More Leaves

Fall if in full swing and so are the leaves. Although their colors are beautiful, their raining down on your lawn, not so much.
So many people bag their leaves.  Yes, those big ol' pumpkin bags full of leaves are kinda cute, but there are much better uses for those leaves, and best of all, it ultimately SAVES YOU MONEY!

Instead of bagging your leaves, blow them into your flower beds or you vegetable garden.  During the cold months they will act as added insulation for your plant roots.  Just before the 1st freeze, put trash bags over the leaves at the base of plants.

Come spring, as the weather warms up, remove the bags and let the spring rains continue to help decompose the leaves.  The decomposed leaves help fertilize your soil.

In your vegetable garden, just let them set.  Come time to till your garden in the spring, till the leaves into the soil.  Again, the decomposed leaves add fertilizer to your soil.

Happy fall!
