In the beginning....

While sitting with my fiance' and a friend, we were talking about "old school" things we do that so many do not do or even know to do today in regard to things around the house.  He was intrigued by our conversation and suggested we write a book containing our knowledge of these tips and tricks.  As the months passed, this comment frequently popped back into my head as I would sell a craft or a pie, or someone would ask a question about making something for them or how to do something. 

I finally decided I would attempt a blog.  I have never done this before, but I am going to give it a try.

My plan is to share tips for tasks around the house, crafts I make, life hacks, basically, just whatever comes to mind that day. 

I hope to generate conversations and questions, but most of all, I hope to enlighten many to the tips and tricks that can make the role as "Woman of the House" easier and fun. 

It amazes me how many people today cannot cook and don't clean, cannot do crafts, mend, etc.  These are things my mother, grandmother, aunts, etc. did on a daily basis and taught me.  I am very grateful for the knowledge they passed on. 

Not having a girl to teach these things to,since I raised boys,  many of these things I taught my boys.  Funny thing is, they now tell me of teaching some things to their girlfriends.  LOL
